The best pickers in KVOE’s 2026 Beat the Bracket contest picked up their winnings Monday.
Deb Hanson, Devin Hutchinson and Peggy Perez stopped by Flint Hills Lanes to claim their prizes after having the best brackets in KVOE’s annual NCAA Tournament contest. Hanson had the big package, Recliner from Triad Leasing, a $300 gift card to Flint Hills Lanes, $100 in cash from Emporia State Federal Credit Union and a year of light-duty auto oil changes from Blackcreek Diesel & Automotive. She did some homework before filling out her brackets.
Hutchinson picked up $200 in cash from ESFCU and a $200 gift card to Flint Hills Lanes. One could say Hutchinson’s winnings were right up his alley.
Perez got $100 in cash from the credit union and a $100 gift card to Flint Hills Lanes.
Bowling alley manager Mark Martin says it was fun to be a featured sponsor for Beat the Bracket. He says the contest opened up a new potential clientele for Flint Hills Lanes.
Contestants had a chance to get brackets at several locations, including Triad, Blackcreek, ESFCU, The Liquor Store, Bourbon Cowboy, Gambino’s Pizza and Flint Hills Lanes. They then had to return their completed brackets to the business where they picked up the brackets. KVOE also offered bonus buzzwords during the 7:50 am sports on weekdays during the NCAA Tournament to help contestants with their point totals.
