Emporia High soccer fell 4-1 to Manhattan on Tuesday at Spartan Field.
The Lady Indians took the 1-0 advantage 13 minutes into the match off a corner. Emporia slowed up the Manhattan attack until a barrage of goals were scored in the final ten minutes. Aracely Aleman ended the shutout with four minutes left in the game with a goal assisted from Viveca Fuller.
Coach Oscar Macias said the team made too many mistakes late.
The Lady Spartans drop to 5-3 (1-1) and travel to Wichita Classical on Tuesday, April 21.
