Processes continue behind the scenes as USD 251 North Lyon County continues discussions about new facilities.
A special meeting Wednesday gave board members a status report on those conversations before a decision on an overall project and a likely bond package to pay for the work. Superintendent Bob Blair says Tessere Architects has been meeting with district staff and the Strategic Planning Committee to get input for both new construction and renovations. Renderings and cost information from Tessere should be in hand by June.
Also, the board will inter construction manager at-risk candidates during a special board meeting May 5.
This continues a now better than two-year-process to determine exactly how to handle the district’s building needs for education, whether through a new high school at North Lyon County Elementary/Junior High, a new high school near Americus or a new K-12 campus near the district’s population center. It also follows three similar efforts, all unsuccessful, last decade.
