Emporia High baseball went 0-2 at a tournament in McPherson on Tuesday.
Emporia opened with a 11-1 loss to McPherson.
Chase Harrington got EHS on the board with a solo shot in the first. The Bullpups answered with three in the first, added three more in the third and ended the game off five in the sixth.
Caydrick Crouch hit a double for one of the four Spartan hits.
Harrington took the loss in four innings. The senior picked up five K’s with three earned runs.
Game two went to Rose Hill 9-5.
The Rockets wasted no time with two in the bottom of the first. The Black and Red cut the deficit in half in the second after Morrow Krueger doubled in Colton Eubanks. Three hits, an error, and a walk gave Emporia the lead in the third. Harrington and Crouch each picked up an RBI. Rose Hill answered with two in the bottom of the frame, three in the fourth, and two more in the fifth.
Krueger and Eubanks each had a two hit game.
Eluterio Trujillo went four innings and suffered the defeat. He was tagged for five earned runs.
The Spartans have dropped their last eight games and sit at 5-9. They return to Soden’s Grove to face Manhattan on Friday.
