The Emporia Recreation Commission Steering Committee meets Tuesday afternoon.
Board members will have another discussion on a possible new recreation center. Cost comparisons, investments, plans and education campaign activities are set to be discussed. The overall conversation also continues as Emporia has had several large-scale business layoffs and business closures over the last 18 months, most recently the Michelin layoffs and Hopkins closure this year.
The meeting is at 3:30 pm at the White Auditorium Wheeler Conference Room.
