The Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees will get an update on a potential capital campaign as part of its monthly Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday.
Hospital leaders have been discussing a significant fundraising campaign for well over a year, making the first public reference to the “Building On” effort at their December meeting. The campaign as originally proposed would generate $50 million to bolster patient care, programs and technology. Eighty percent, or $40 million, would come in through donations over a 3- to 5-year period. Specifics are pending, although Chief Executive Officer Cathy Pimple has said a new patient tower, discussed publicly for years as part of long-term planning, could be included.
Other discussion points included proposed department and contracted services metrics for Quality and Compliance before three executive sessions, one each for peer review, legal consultation and personnel. Wednesday’s meeting is also the quarterly update for Lyon County officials.
The meeting is at 3 pm at the hospital.
