Denim and Diamonds season is officially here.
The annual slate of activities as part of Newman Regional Health’s largest yearly fundraiser kicked off Friday with the third Denim and Diamonds golf tournament at the Emporia Golf Course. According to Newman Event and Donor Coordinator Jelinda Watts, who joined the Newman team just over a month ago, says she was very excited for the kickoff and clearly so was the community, as the tournament was full once again.
Watts says the turnout included a good mix of both hospital staff and community members, underscoring how important a resource Newman is to all it serves.
Denim and Diamonds activities will continue next week with the annual community BBQ meal on Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm. All activities over the next few months will lead up to the Denim and Diamonds gala on August 7th at 6 pm, an event Watts gave KVOE a sneak preview of during our interview on Friday.
