The Area and Emporia Athletes of the Week were announced Monday.
Leo DeDonder of Northern Heights is the Area Athlete of the Week. The state champ in wrestling picked up five hits and scored four runs for the Wildcats last week. The senior is hitting .571 on the year.
Delaney Davis is the Emporia Athlete of the Week. The freshman did it all for the Lady Spartans in a game one win over Iola on Friday. She picked up the win in the circle and collected three hits with three RBI’s.
