The Gary Fuller Spring Classic marked its 10th anniversary with a full field of participants at the Lyon County Fairgrounds Show Arena.
Among those involved was Andrea DeDonder, who was showing swine Sunday.
DeDonder says there are some similarities — and differences — in showing swine versus other livestock.
4-H and FFA participants ages 7-18 could be involved in showing swine, as well as goats and sheep.
Besides giving youths chances to hone their showmanship skills heading into the Lyon County Fair this summer, the event also recognizes Fuller’s contributions to 4-H participants before he was killed in a tree trimming accident over 10 years ago. The ninth annual Gary Fuller Memorial Shootout is set for Oct. 17.
