The Emporia State softball team was honored today as the MIAA released its 2026 All-MIAA Softball team. A whopping seven Lady Hornets were named to the teams led by Brooke Flewelling on the Second Team. She hit .351 and led the league with 16 home runs and had eight doubles and four triples. Taryn Burkhardt and Addison Callaway made the third team while Hannah Butterbaugh, Avery Brewer, Ally Miller, and Brynley Smith were named Honorable Mention. Burkhardt also picked up a Gold Glove award in the outfield. She hit .383 this year with five triples while Callaway hit .346 with 10 doubles while scoring 32 runs. The Lady Hornets finished fourth in the MIAA and are hosting the MIAA Tournament at the Trusler Sports Complex beginning on Wednesday at the Trusler Sports Complex. ESU meets Central Missouri in the quarterfinal Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Pregame coverage begins at 1:15 p.m. on Mix 104.9.
