If all goes according to plan, the Lee Beran Recreation Center’s indoor pool will reopen to the public Thursday.
The Rec Commission says the natatorium’s pump has been in the process of being rebuilt. Gerald Schumann Electric and Plumbing by Spellman are coordinating on the installation.
The goal is to have the pump installed and functioning normally Wednesday before opening the pool to the public Thursday — although the water temperature may not be up to 88 degrees by Thursday morning.
The pump issues developed last week, causing the pool to be shut down until the rebuild and reinstallation process is done. This follows a water line break, in part due to corrosion, last year — and other shutdowns of the natatorium due to varying reasons over the last decade.
