Not only is the Lee Beran Recreation Center’s indoor pool open again to the public, it’s literally back to normal.
Rec Commission Director Amanda Gutierrez says chemical levels are where they need to be and the pool’s water temperature is at 88 degrees, ideal for therapeutic swimmers.
The pool had to close for a week after a pump failed. The pump had to be rebuilt before it was reinstalled Wednesday.
7:20 am Thursday:
Almost all systems are go for the reopening of the Lee Beran Rec Center’s indoor pool.
Closed for a week after pump issues, the plan is to reopen the pool Thursday morning if chemical levels are deemed safe for public use. Therapeutic swim users have been told this week the water temperature may not be up to 88 degrees, and that guidance hasn’t changed. Water temperatures were in the upper 70s at last check.
The pump had to be removed and rebuilt before it was reinstalled Wednesday as part of a joint effort involving Plumbing by Spellman and Gerald Schumann Electric.
The pool reopens to the public at 8 am with an arthritic swim class.
