The Emporia Police Department has closed its investigation into the death of Emporia teacher Rebecca Rauber from this past January.
A news release from the department this week says Rauber, 28, died from hypothermia, with the death listed as accidental. The department says there are no indications of foul play.
Rauber stopped briefly at Town Royal in downtown Emporia on Jan. 23 before walking west in brutally cold conditions, according to Emporia Police. Officers say Rauber was found near Fourth and West on Jan. 25. Wind chills were below zero and there was snow across Emporia that weekend.
