Big First Inning Lifts Black & Red in Softball Win

Emporia High hosted a softball classic beginning on Friday at Peter Pan Park.  The Lady Spartans used a big first inning to take down Blue Valley West 7-1.  The visitors scored in the first, but the Lady Spartans roared back with five runs and never trailed again.  Alivia Barrett and Oaklie Dawson each had two hit games for the Black & Red.  Barrett tossed a complete game in the circle for the win scattering nine hits.  EHS is back in action Saturday hosting Lawrence at 11:45 a.m.
