Commencement exercises are dominating the schedule for the upcoming weekend.
Emporia State University has its graduate-level commencement beginning at 6 pm Friday, followed by the undergraduate-level commencement at 9:30 am Saturday. Both sets of activities will be at White Auditorium. KVOE’s ESU Buzz at 8:20 am Thursday will focus on the graduation ceremonies.
Flint Hills Technical College, meanwhile, has its upcoming graduation activities at 3 pm Saturday at White Auditorium. KVOE’s Tech Talk at 8:20 am Tuesday will look at the college’s graduation event and also the nurse pinning ceremonies, which will take place at the FHTC main campus Metcalf Building starting at 4 pm Friday.
Emporia High’s graduation will be at 3 pm Sunday, May 17, at White Auditorium.
Graduation activities for area school districts are as follows:
*Saturday: Marais des Cygnes Valley (4 pm)
*Sunday: Osage City (2 pm)
*May 16: Hamilton (10 am), Santa Fe Trail (10 am), Northern Heights (11 am), Madison-Virgil (noon), Hartford (1 pm), Olpe (3 pm), Southern Coffey County (4 pm), Burlington
*May 17: Burlingame (2 pm), Chase County (2 pm), Eureka (2 pm), Wabaunsee (2 pm), Waverly (2 pm), Lebo (4 pm)
Districts that have already had their graduation activities include Lyndon and Mission Valley.
