It isn’t time just yet for the Flint Hills Rodeo, but it’s fast approaching.
Tickets are available online at flinthillsrodeo.org, and there will be three big nights of activities May 28-30 — starting with Kids Night on May 28. Here’s organizer Jason Lewis:
Military Appreciation Night is May 29, where every active or retired military service person with valid ID can attend at no charge. The finale is May 30, with the parade from Cottonwood Falls to Strong City beginning at 2 pm. Cervi Championship Rodeo is providing the livestock, with Roger Mooney again serving as the public address announcer.
Organizer Brent Monahan credits volunteers for helping to make the rodeo event a staple for Chase County and the Flint Hills at large.
Each night has a trade show and stick horse rodeo at 6 pm before the main PRCA Rodeo performance at 8 pm. Activities May 29-30 end with rodeo dances beginning at 10 pm both nights.
