The Americus City Council will talk more about dissolving the town’s police department at the monthly meeting Tuesday.
The Council will discuss updates with inventory and evidence, with a discussion about next steps after the town voted earlier this year to end the police department operations. The city has said it plans to work with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office for law enforcement coverage.
Other business Tuesday includes separate conversations about fireworks and outdoor warning sirens.
The meeting starts at 7 pm Tuesday at Americus City Hall.
