A Quenemo man has been taken into custody on suspicion of drug possession, weapons violations and unspecified warrants in Osage County.
According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, deputies attempted to make contact with an individual who had active felony warrants out for their arrest in the 29200 block of South Berryton Road near Melvern on Sunday. While taking the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Michael E. Traver, into custody, deputies reportedly observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight.
Deputies applied for and were granted a search warrant; they later discovered additional suspected narcotics, paraphernalia, and a firearm. Traver was taken to the Osage County Jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of a firearm and Osage County warrants.
Formal charges are pending at last word.
