Groundbreaking is coming this week for Stormont Vail’s new Emporia Clinic.
Activities will start at 9 am Friday onsite near the intersection of West 18th and Road G. Community leaders, caregivers and hospital partners are attending, with comments coming from Stormont-Vail CEO Mark Slyter, Dr Scott Smiley and Clinic Director Kelsey Meyer, in addition to Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce Interim President Mike Law.
Meyer says there has been a lot of conversations behind the scenes over the last two years.
The new facility will offer several levels of primary care, including family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and behavioral health. It will also offer several types of specialty care, including immunology, allergy, cardiology, endocrinology, occupational health and orthopedics. Imaging and lab services will also be included. Meyer also expects additional staff once the new facility is built.
The roughly $45 million campus should be open to the public in two years.
