Four Hornet baseball players have received All-Central Region honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Colby Deaver (pitcher) and Logan Myers (second base) each made the First Team while Noah Steele (first base) and Grant Huffman (relief pitcher) earned second team honors. Additionally, Deaver was named the Central Region Pitcher of the Year. Deaver was named the national pitcher of the week twice this year and had ten quality starts with a 1.50 ERA. Myers hit .408 for the Hornets this season with 21 doubles and 70 runs. Steele hit .388 and bashed 16 home runs to wrap up his career with 31, fifth most in program history. Huffman had a 2.10 ERA out of the bullpen with a WHIP of 0.96 and went 8-for-8 in save opportunities this season. The Hornets finished the year 37-16, ESU’s first 30-win season since 2018.
