Light rain has already come to the KVOE listening area, and more is possible later Friday.
Current rain totals:
*KVOE studios: 0.10 inches
*9th and Lawrence: 0.05 inches
*10th and Weaver: 0.20 inches
More showers and storms are possible Friday morning before another chance of showers and storms early Saturday morning and another chance of rainfall Saturday afternoon and evening. Around a quarter-inch of total accumulation is possible.
High temperatures will be in the mid-70s Friday and Saturday, in the low 80s for Sunday and into the mid-80s for Memorial Day.
After the holiday, next week appears to be unsettled with chances of sowers and storms Tuesday through Thursday.
The rain this weekend comes after strong and storms brought anywhere from 0.75 to over 3.5 inches of rain to the KVOE listening area Monday, causing a slight adjustment in the US Drought Monitor map for Greenwood County — which had areas south of Madison mostly in abnormally dry conditions, although the southwest quarter of the county was in moderate drought. The abnormally dry area has been pushed to western Greenwood County, while the moderate drought area has been removed. Far southwest Chase County remains abnormally dry in Thursday’s update.
KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates. If you have rain totals, message the KVOE Bluestem Farm and Ranch Supply text line at 620-342-5863.
