Young readers are encouraged to head to the Emporia Public Library for the annual Summer Reading Kickoff Party on Wednesday.
Library Director Pauline Stacchini says this summer’s theme is “Unearth a Story,” so the kickoff event is sure to be Dino-(DY-no)-mite.
The Summer Reading Kickoff party, 3-4:30 pm Wednesday, leads into other dinosaur-related activities next month, including Dinolympics for preschoolers through 5th-graders. Those activities will be from 2:30-3:30 pm June 2.
Other activities are on the schedule as well, including the first Kids Koncert of the season at noon June 3 and then Wednesdays through June.
Tuesdays in the Park will be — you guessed it — Tuesday mornings from 10-11 am through June and July at Peter Pan Park starting June 9.
