The list of public activities connected to this year’s Unbound Gravel continues to grow.
Visit Emporia has announced the Prairie (Street) Party for Saturday morning as part of a roughly two-month conversation, initiated by Unbound Marketing Manager Kristi Mohn, to reflect a route change that will send riders west on 6th before reaching Prairie, where they will turn south and use the overpass on the way to Road 160.
Visit Emporia Director Matt Fowler tells KVOE News it’s a fun way for the public to get involved. It also gives a sense of just how big Unbound has become.
It also adds a level of symmetry to the event, with a climb at the start out of Emporia and the legendary Highland Hill near the finish line.
Residents attending the Prairie (Street) Party are asked to arrive early, although parking locations will be announced soon.
Saturday’s rides launch between 5:50 and 9:30 am:
*Elite Men 200: 5:50 am
*Elite Women 200: 6:05 am
*200 mile: 6:30 am
*100 mile: 7:30 am
*50 mile junior: 8:30 am
*50 mile: 9 am
