One person was transported after two vehicles collided at a central Emporia intersection Wednesday evening.
Emporia Police and Emporia Fire and EMS were called to the intersection of Sixth and State Street just before 7:50 pm. According to Emporia Police Officers at the scene told KVOE News the accident developed as a 1995 Lincoln Towncar passenger car was traveling northbound on State and stopped at a stop sign.
At the same time, a 2016 Subaru Legacy passenger car was westbound on sixth when the Lincoln pulled out into the intersection leading to the collision. Both cars were then forced up on to the lawn of Robert’s Blue Barnett Funeral home.
A passenger in the Subaru was taken to Newman for observation and possible treatment complaining of back pain. The drivers of the Subaru and Lincoln had no apparent injuries.
The driver of the Lincoln was cited for a stop sign violation.
