7Brew’s plan for a new coffee shop in northwest Emporia is on hold for at least another month.
Lyon County Board of Zoning Appeals members tabled a decision on a variance request from the front and side lot requirements at 2803 Eaglecrest during a meeting Tuesday. The parking lot immediately north of the Taco Bell at that location is the main concern. Zoning and Planning Administrator Justin Givens says peak hours could see up to 100 additional vehicles in the lot, and the BZA has expressed concerns about how those vehicles will affect traffic at an already-busy intersection and other busy streets nearby.
7Brew is expected to provide a detailed traffic study at the BZA’s July meeting.
