Area athletes will take the field Saturday in the Kansas 8-Man All-Star Games in Beloit, representing their schools and communities on one of the state’s biggest postseason stages.
In the Division 1 game, scheduled for 10 a.m., Madison’s Cruz Leiser and Octavian Dean will suit up for the East squad alongside Lyndon standouts James Marcotte and Lucas Griffin.
The Division 2 contest will follow at 1:30 p.m., with Lebo’s Brayden Hopkins and Burlingame teammates Brock Moon and Drake Skirvin representing the East team. The game offers players one final chance to compete against the state’s best while celebrating their high school careers.
K.E.M.F.A. President and Burlingame Coach Jeff Slater outlines the selection process.
Slater added the athletes have been there since Tuesday and Friday includes a pep rally and a banquet.
Both games will be played Saturday in Beloit as part of the Kansas 8-Man All-Star festivities. The event annually highlights some of the top talent from small-school football programs across the state.
