The annual Washunga Days activities will include far more than just great music this upcoming weekend once again.
In addition to the concerts, the communitywide event will also include several additional activities, all of which are free to attend, according to planning committee member Tasha Green, a guest of KVOE’s Morning Show Monday.
In addition to all of this, the 2026 Washunga Days will see the introduction of the inaugural Kids’ Fishing Derby and OK Kids’ Day informational event. What’s in Outdoors host Phil Taunton is helping to organize the event that will include a plethora of information that he says is “not just for the kids.”
The fishing derby and informational event will begin Saturday at 11 am, following the parade in downtown. Registration for the event will be available at the entrance of the Neosho River Walk.
Of course, all of the activities will center around the two concerts on the schedule, starting Friday with a “local downtown” show, according to Washunga Music Coordinator Steven McKnight.
