A tire company with a regional presence is set to open its doors to the public.
Big O Tires has a grand opening celebration from 11 am to 2 pm Saturday at the new location, 2026 West 6th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at noon. Special offers on tires and tire-related services will also be part of the grand opening.
The local store is owned by Cory Mitchell, whose parents met as Emporia State students and whose grandparents spent much of their lives in Madison. Meanwhile, Emporians Justin Hensley and Dave Hudson, both with lengthy careers in tire service, will manage the store.
Big O Tires began in 1962 as part of an independent cooperative. The brand name now has over 450 independently-owned and operated stores in 25 sstates.
