As conversations continue on a potential data center in Emporia, the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce has organized a special information event for Chamber members.
Chamber Interim President and CEO Mike Law says an informational conversation will take place at 1:45 pm Monday at the Trusler Business Center, 719 Commercial. Presenters will be Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas Interim Vice President Brad Kraft, Emporia City Manager Trey Cocking, Flint Hills Digital Campus project representative Garrett Nordstrom and Emporia Main Street Director Case Woods. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
The presentation follows the City Commission’s conversation about large-volume water use policy during the meeting Wednesday and precedes the Emporia Planning Commission’s special meeting at 6 pm Tuesday. Initially set for the White Auditorium Little Theatre, the meeting — including a public hearing on a potential Digital Infrastructure Overlay — will now be at the White Auditorium arena floor.
