An investigation is underway in Nebraska following a fatal vehicle vs pedestrian accident that claimed the life of an Emporia woman.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Nebraska, the accident occurred around 10:20 pm Friday on the shoulder of West Dodge Road and 237th Street just outside the Omaha city limits. According to DCSO, initial indications are that 36-year-old Cheri Blue of Emporia was struck by a vehicle after she reportedly exited a grey Toyota Corolla, which was parked on the shoulder.
Full details are currently pending; however, the sheriff’s office believes Blue was involved in an argument with another passenger when she exited the vehicle and ended up in the traffic lane. Lifesaving measures were underway when deputies arrived on scene and took over; however, Blue was pronounced dead at the scene.
