Traffic is being altered temporarily due to a two-vehicle collision just east of the Emporia city limits.
The accident occurred before 11 am Saturday, involving two vehicles: one eastbound on East Highway 50 and the other exiting Interstate 35 from the 133 off-ramp. An investigation is currently underway; however, Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies tell KVOE News, initial indications are that the vehicle exiting the interstate pulled in front of the eastbound vehicle, causing the collision.
No transports have been reported. Further details, including a full crash narrative, as well as the number and names of individuals involved. Due to the accident, traffic is being halted on the off-ramp and a portion of East US Highway 50 as emergency crews work to clear the scene.
