One man was arrested after a reported vehicle stop in Emporia turned into an alleged foot chase Tuesday.
Emporia Police Lt Tim Wacker says the incident began unfolding around 10:20 am in the 600 block of Washington. The driver, identified as Jon Buchanan, allegedly did not comply. Officers deployed Tasers unsuccessfully and Buchanan allegedly fled on foot for a block to the east before officers deployed their Tasers successfully and arrested Buchanan.
Wacker says Buchanan is being held on suspicion of drug possession and obstructing law enforcement. Additional details are pending.
