Work continues to reopen the Emporia DMV office on a limited basis after staffing issues earlier in the week.
The Kansas Department of Revenue has not responded to a KVOE News request for additional information about the upcoming schedule or staffing adjustments to reopen the facility next week. Flinthills Mall, the host location, has — and it says the office actually opened for 6 hours Thursday.
The last-announced plan through the mall is to see the DMV office reopen Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week. Hours will be 9:30 am to 3:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch closure at a time to be determined. Flinthills Mall says there will be Department of Revenue staff from other locations coming to Emporia as a way to reopen the DMV office. Meanwhile, the Department of Revenue is now hiring for one full-time and one seasonal driver’s license examiner. Information is available through the state’s careers portal at jobs.sok.ks.gov.
