USD 417 Morris County is currently proceeding toward the development of a new bond issue following a failed effort earlier this year.
According to Superintendent Tyson Esslinger, the district has received the results of a community survey that was launched between April and May of this year after nearly 71 percent of district voters voted down the matter this past March. Esslinger says with the survey results now in hand, the district is planning a series of community meetings to gain more insight into the wants of district patrons, with plans to place the issue back on a ballot either this coming spring or during next year’s general election if necessary.
According to Esslinger, four meetings have been scheduled for mid-August and early September, with the first two meetings taking place at 5:30 pm and 7 pm on August 27th in Council Grove and the others occurring at 5:30 and 7 pm inside Prairie Heights Elementary School in Alta Vista.
Esslinger will join KVOE’s Morning Show next Wednesday, July 22, at 8:20 am to discuss the district’s efforts in greater detail.
