Stormont Vail Health’s Cotton O’Neil Clinic at Newman Regional Health won’t officially be shut down until a new, much larger facility is built in west Emporia over the next 2 years, but the name has already changed.
The change from Cotton O’Neil to the Stormont Vail Emporia Clinic reflects a broader process to “sunset” the Cotton O’Neil brand for all Stormont Vail locations. Stormont Vail and Cotton O’Neil began a partnership in 1995, and Stormont Vail President and CEO Mark Slyter says the decision to use one brand indicates the hospital and associated clinics across eastern Kansas has been one system for years.
To that end, Stormont Vail has unveiled a new slogan: “Stormont Vail Health One — One Name. One System. Same Trusted Care.” It also says branding will change at the different former Cotton O’Neil sites in stages.
Early construction is well underway at the Stormont Vail Emporia campus at the southeast corner of West 18th and Road G. The facility should open to the public by spring 2028.
