An Emporia woman is getting prison time for drug distribution after a chase that ended near an Emporia school late this past winter.
Judge Laura Miser sentenced Mariel Martin to nearly 5 years total in prison. The lead count is distributing methamphetamine, with Martin also sentenced for flee and elude and aggravated battery.
Martin was also charged with criminal damage, drug distribution within 1,000 feet of a school, paraphernalia possession and a second count of flee and elude after leading a chase that ended with a crash at 15th and Thompson on Feb 6. She accepted a no-contest plea in May.
