USD 252 Southern Lyon County is starting two fundraisers for completely different objectives.
Superintendent Ryan Muhlig used the KVOE Morning Show on Tuesday to discuss a new stadium sponsorship venture. Muhlig says this is based on similar programs other districts are either currently using or have used.
Muhlig says alums, businesses, community members, family members and different organizations can have their banners up throughout football season, but they will have to place orders within the next 2 weeks to do so.
Cost is $350 for the first year and $200 for a second-year renewal. Proceeds go to the respective school. Forms are available on district social media, by calling the district office at 620-392-5519 or emailing rmuhlig@usd252.org.
Another new fundraiser benefits the district’s Honor Flight program. This is a shootout, a sporting clays event, taking place Aug 30 on the south side of Madison Lake. Muhlig says this is a trial run and follows a similar event organized by Masons in Madison.
This replaces the golf tournament, at least on a temporary basis. The format will be knockout.Annie Oakley style, where shooters line up to try to break the target and the last shooter standing wins the round. Prizes will be awarded throughout the event at different price levels. Ammunition and lunch will be included. Participants are being asked to simply show up as registration begins at 10:30 am Aug 30.
For information or to sign up, call the district office or email Muhlig.
