Chances of showers and thunderstorms dominate the short-term forecast before hotter conditions return to the area.
Showers and storms will be possible to likely through early Saturday morning, with the best chances of rainfall through late morning Thursday and from morning to mid-afternoon Friday. No severe weather is expected, but rainfall totals of 0.50 to 1.50 inches are possible through Friday night.
High temperatures will be in the low 80s Thursday and mid-80s Friday. After that, heat returns quickly. Highs will be in the mid-90s Saturday and upper 90s Sunday through Tuesday. Heat index readings will be 100-105 Saturday through Monday and just short of 100 Tuesday and Wednesday.
