With the August primary next week, the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office is urging voters to the state’s election portal for information they may need.
VoteKansas.gov includes information about voter registration, advance voting, election dates, proposed constitutional amendments and candidates for state and federal offices. It also includes VoterView, which lets residents confirm address, party association, polling places and sample ballots. And it includes election results at both the local and state levels for state and federal candidates.
The primary is Aug 4. Tuesday is the last day to request a mail ballot, and appeals continue after a Douglas County judge reinstated the 3-day grace period for mail ballots to be postmarked on Election Day and returned to county election offices to be counted in the election cycle. In Lyon County, in-person advance voting continues from 8 am to 5 pm through Friday and from 8 am to noon Monday. Polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm Aug 4.
KVOE has posted its Voter Information Guide courtesy of Community National Bank & Trust online at KVOE.com. Full election coverage, including results and candidate reactions, will begin shortly after the polls close Aug 4.
