Hartford football is looking to take another step forward this fall as the Jaguars continue building under second-year head coach Dalen Kistner.
After finishing 1-8 in Kistner’s first season at the helm, Hartford is aiming for its first winning campaign since 2020. The 2019 Hartford graduate says the focus remains on establishing the program’s culture and laying the foundation for long-term success.
The Jaguars will have a new face under center this season with senior Tyce Ndegwa taking over at quarterback. Ndegwa earned Lyon County League Flex Honorable Mention honors a year ago and will lead an offense that also features versatile junior Carson Menke. Kistner expects Menke to make an impact in all three phases of the game.
Another key weapon is Colt Heckathorn, a dynamic playmaker the Jaguars will look to get involved any way they can. His ability to create in open space gives Hartford another offensive threat as it searches for more consistency this season.
Last year’s lone victory came in the regular-season finale against Centre, but the Jaguars know another challenging schedule awaits.
Hartford opens the 2026 season at home on September 4 when Cornerstone, Missouri visits to kick off the new campaign.
