Troopers with the Kansas Highway Patrol have handled a few wrecks as heavy rainfall has moved across the KVOE listening area Friday morning, although it hasn’t yet been confirmed if the weather played a role in any or all of the crashes.
One wreck at mile marker 100.8, 3 miles northeast of the Matfield Green service area and 17 miles southwest of the Emporia gate. As many as 3 patients were observed on site. Nobody accepted ambulance trips to hospitals afterward. Northbound traffic was closed for over 90 mnutes but has since reopened.
Wrecks were also noted at mile marker 98, just northeast of the Matfield Green service exit, and at mile marker 118, 9 miles southwest of the Emporia gate. No injuries have been confirmed with either of those wrecks.
