The spirits may well have brought a lot of people to the Lyon County History Center for the fourth annual Flint Hills Spirit Fair on Saturday.
Regardless of the reason, the History Center’s 3 floors were all occupied by vendors. This year featured 2 speakers, including Kyle Therese Cranston, a medium, spiritual consultant and author. Cranston says she had an interest in the supernatural at an early age — starting with readings when she was 15.
Cranston has had several mentors along the way — after a bad situation nearly 20 years ago.
Also speaking was Arla Collett Williams, who says she has 70 years of contact and interactions with forest people, more commonly known as Bigfoot or Sasquatch. Her first encounter came when she was 6 years old in southeast Oklahoma.
A lot of people dispute the presence of Bigfoot, but Williams says they are more common than one might think. She also says humans fear what they don’t understand.
Flint Hills Paranormal organized the fair again this year, and Brandy Clarke says the organization has a good feeling heading into the fifth anniversary next year.
Several vendors were complimentary of how well Flint Hills Paranormal handled the event and took care of those onsite. Clarke says organizers take an intentional approach.
Residents could talk with the vendors while picking up items like books, artwork, jewelry, crystals, handmade native drums, books, soaps and aura photos among other offerings.
