Hot and steamy weather is ahead for the KVOE listening area Sunday.
All area counties are in a heat advisory from 12-8 pm. Air temperatures could reach 101 with heat index readings as high as 104.
Air temperatures are expected in the upper 90s with heat index readings at or slightly above 100 for Monday and Tuesday as well.
This means another time period for light, loose-fitting clothes, as well as drinking extra water, potential schedule changes to handle more strenuous activity in the morning or evening and frequent breaks in air conditioning or shade. Residents are also encouraged to check up on elderly neighbors and be sure not to leave children or pets unattended in vehicles while on errands.
KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates.
