USD 251 North Lyon County has several items for discussion at its regular meeting Wednesday.
Board members will discuss the current move towards a public vote on a new high school and athletic complex in Americus, notably in light of a letter from Evergy stating its commitment to the Emporia Energy Center near Reading as conversations continue about a possible solar facility surrounding the peak energy plant. Lyon County commissioners have enacted a 6-month moratorium on county discussions related to the solar facility and its potential role for a possible data center in Emporia.
In other business, USD 251 North Lyon County will also discuss state assessment data as part of a larger discussion on school needs, as well as hold a conversation on the district’s social media policy. The standard updates on capital outlay plans, finances and legislative matters are also scheduled. There is one executive session for non-elected personnel on the agenda.
The meeting starts at 6 pm at the board meeting room in Americus.
