The cyclosporiasis outbreak continues nationwide, and Kansas continues to see an increased caseload on a week-to-week basis.
The latest information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment has 748 cases of the explosive diarrhea-creating organism, up from 615 a week ago. Total hospitalizations went from 20 the past two weeks to 32 as of Wednesday. Nearly 230 potential cases are awaiting interviews, down slightly from last week.
Areawide, Chase, Greenwood and Morris counties still have no cases. However, Lyon County now has 7 cases, Coffey and Wabaunsee counties each have up to 5 cases for the 2nd straight week and Osage County has 10 cases.
