A hot, sticky Tuesday may end with severe weather.
Temperatures will likely climb to the mid-90s, pushing heat index readings to around 101 by day’s end.
A cold front will drag across the area Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, bringing a marginal-to-slight severe weather risk for wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail to the size of quarters. Areas along and north of a line from Cottonwood Falls to Olpe to LeRoy are in the slight risk area. Areas south of that line are in the marginal risk area.
High temperatures will be in the upper 80s to low 90s from Wednesday through the upcoming weekend, with a slight chance of showers and storms early Sunday.
KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates.
