Facility plans are ahead for members of the Emporia Recreation Commission as the board meets Monday.
Board members will discuss plans for upcoming community engagement sessions connected to a now-public vote on the funding mechanism to build a new recreation facility near Jones Aquatic Center while renovating and, to a degree, repurposing Lee Beran Rec Center after Emporia city commissioners recently voted to put a 0.25-percent sales tax in front of voters on Nov 3.
Also, the Rec Commission Board will get an update on the progress ahead of renovations and additions coming for the DeBauge Family Sports Complex. Once construction is done next year, there will be a new turf field, parking improvements, new concession area, new restrooms and additional storage.
Other business for the board includes a policy review on rights to refuse service and an insurance update.
The meeting starts at 5:30 pm Monday at the Lee Beran Rec Center.
