Drought conditions are starting to creep in on parts of the KVOE listening area south of Emporia.
The US Drought Monitor has abnormally dry conditions across far southwest Chase County, as well as far southern Coffey County and most of the southeast half of Greenwood County.
Rainfall totals were pretty commonplace for much of the summer but have largely dried out over the last 2 weeks.
