A pair of second-half goals from Brayden Sailer propelled Emporia High soccer to a 2-0 victory over Seaman on Thursday.
The Spartans and Vikings battled to a scoreless draw through the opening 40 minutes before EHS broke through midway through the second half.
Sailer beat the Seaman goalkeeper twice in a span of minutes, giving the Black and Red control of the match and putting the Spartans in front.
Emporia High’s defense made the lead stand, recording its second clean sheet of the season in as many matches.
The Spartans improve to 2-0 on the season and will return to action Tuesday at the Salina South Tournament.
