Hot, dry conditions may finally be nearing the end after 10 days of baking the KVOE listening area.
After a high of 102 and a top heat index reading of 106 Monday, We will have a high again of 102 and a peak heat index up to 105 Tuesday. An extreme heat warning continues until 7 pm for Lyon , Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties, while a heat advisory ends at 8 pm for Chase and Greenwood counties.
Hot and dry conditions may be resetting to seasonal and damp over the next week. There are good chances of storms Wednesday and Wednesday night, but the National Weather Service Forecast Points information page indicates less than 0.40 inches of rainfall Wednesday into Thursday. Up to an inch may fall this upcoming weekend.
